為避免黨公「選邊站」引發分裂危機，民進黨主席卓榮泰3月20日重申，要求黨務主管必須中立公正，公職人員不宜過度表態，集體的行為應「適可而止」。
民進黨美東黨部評議委員蕭錫惠今在臉書po文指今端午節，全台民進黨眾多黨部主委，各立委議員，前議員，紛紛發出簡訊 或在臉書 Line 上 要求「唯一支持」蔡英文。沒人鳥卓榮泰！

蕭錫惠肯定賴清德願意挑戰蔡英文， 正如林肯說的：是善與惡， 正義與既得利益的永恆鬥爭。總統雖然有很多資源， 蕭說：「但我們願意站在人民與正義的一方！ 我們相信民主制下，人民才是最後的決定者」！
